THE National Capital Region Police Office led by PMGen. Anthony Aberin has firmly adopted and championed the vision of Philippine National Police chief PGen. Nicolas D. Torre III in the battle against illegal drugs.
Torre’s directive focuses on empowering barangays to be the frontline defenders in this fight, with Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils playing a crucial role in both prevention and rehabilitation.
By shifting the battle to the local level, the PNP aims to confront the drug crisis where it’s felt most — within the community.
From August 1 to 15, 2025, NCRPO conducted 429 drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 603 individuals and the seizure of over ₱18.5 million worth of illegal drugs.
While these figures speak volumes about the success of the campaign, the true power lies in the strategy’s community-driven approach.
BADACs are not merely assisting law enforcement — they are active agents of change, offering support to those willing to break free from addiction and preventing the spread of drug-related crimes.
Aberin emphasized that this fight is about more than just enforcement; it’s about transforming communities and offering hope for recovery.
With BADACs at the helm, NCRPO’s efforts ensure that drug-free barangays are not just a goal, but a tangible reality.
This strategy reinforces the idea that combating drugs requires a collective effort, with police and local communities working side by side.
By standing firmly behind Chief PNP Torre’s vision, the NCRPO is dismantling not only drug syndicates but the very foundations of the drug trade.
This approach is creating a future where safer, healthier, and drug-free communities are no longer a distant hope but an achievable reality for every Filipino.
