MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), ipinakita ng halalan noong Mayo 12 ang pagbagsak ng suporta ng mga botante sa mga party-list na may kaugnayan sa CPP-NPA-NDF.
Sinabi ni Executive Director Usec. Ernesto Torres Jr. na bumaba ng 26% kumpara noong 2022. “Pre-canvass figures covering more than 95 percent of precincts show that votes for CPP-NPA-NDF-affiliated party-lists fell by 26 percent compared with 2022 election results.”
Sinabi pa ni Torres na tinanggihan ng mga botante ang mga grupong tumangging kondenahin ang armadong pakikibaka.
“It is clear that Filipino voters rejected the duplicity of these individuals and party-list organizations with regard to their links to the CPP-NPA-NDF. For years, they refused to condemn the violent armed insurgency of the CPP-NPA-NDF and the electorate has now responded by shrinking their congressional footprint,” aniya.
Giit niya, ginagamit lang umano ng mga natalong grupo ang isyu ng red-tagging bilang palusot.
“Blaming defeat on critical scrutiny belittles the Filipino voters’ capacity to weigh facts. Citizens made an informed choice and punished duplicity, not genuine activism,” aniya pa.
Nanawagan siya sa mga grupong ito na talikuran ang karahasan at makilahok sa demokratikong proseso.
Nagpasalamat din ang NTF-ELCAC sa mga botante, aniya, ang kinabukasan ay isinusulat sa balota, hindi sa bala. RNT
