MANILA, Philippines – Ihihinto ang operasyon ng Philippine National Railways (PNR) simula Marso 28, upang magbigay-daan sa konstruksyon ng North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project.
Sinabi ni Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista na ang closure ng PNR ay “until the NSCR is completed and starts operations.”
Samantala, sinabi rin ng DOTR Undersecretary for Railways Jeremy Regino na ang huling biyahe ng PNR ay sa Holy Wednesday, Marso 27.
Partikular na isasara ang Governor Pascual-Tutuban at Tutuban-Alabang operations ng PNR.
Noong Oktubre 2023, sinabi ni Regino, na noon ay general manager ng PNR, an ang temporary closure ng PNR ay magsisimula sa kalagitnaan ng Enero ngayong taon.
Nang linawin kung bakit ito iniurong sa huling linggo ng Marso, sinabi ni Regino na, “Too give more time for the public to adjust on the stoppage of operations which will better commence during the Holy Week.”
Unang naapektuhan nang magsara ng operasyon ang Alabang-Calamba route ng PNR.
Naapektuhan nito ang mga istasyon ng Muntinlupa, San Pedro, Pacita Main Gate, Golden City, Biñan, Sta. Rosa, Cabuyao, Mamatid, at Calamba.
Para naman sa suspensyon ng Metro Manila operations ng PNR, sinabi ng DOTR na pabibilisin ang konstruksyon ng NSCR ng walong buwan, at inaasahang makatitipid ng P15.18 bilyon mula sa proyekto.
Ani Bautista, “PNR services will be suspended to also ensure that passengers are safe while the construction of the NSCR is underway.”
Maglalagay naman ng alternatibong ruta ng bus ang DOTr at Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) para sa mga apektadong pasahero.
“Buses on the Tutuban route to Alabang and vice versa are expected to drop off and pick up passengers near the current PNR route,” anang DOTr.
Ang southbound buses ay dadaan sa Divisoria (Tutuban), Mayhaligue Street, Abad Santos Avenue, Recto Avenue, Legarda Street, Quirino Avenue, Nagtahan Flyover, Mabini Bridge, Quirino Avenue, Osmeña Highway, Nichols Entry, SLEX, Bicutan Exit, Bicutan Entry, at Alabang (Starmall).
Habang ang northbound buses ay dadaan sa Alabang (Starmall), Manila South Road, East Service Road, Alabang (Entry), SLEX, Bicutan Exit, Bicutan Entry, Nichols Exit, Osmeña Highway, Quirino Avenue, Legarda Street, Recto Avenue, Abad Santos Avenue, Mayhaligue Street, at Divisoria (Tutuban).
“The bus trips on the Tutuban-Alabang (Southbound) route will start at 7:30 AM, 9:10 AM, 3:00 PM, 3:20 PM, 7:30 PM, and 9:00 PM. On the other hand, the bus trips on the Alabang-Tutuban (Northbound) route will start at 5:00 AM, 6:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 11:45 AM, 5:00 PM, and 6:10 PM,” ayon sa DOTr. RNT/JGC
