OVER 2K NAVOTEÑOS BENEFIT FROM ‘LAB FOR ALL’

OVER 2,000 Navoteños have received free medical and healthcare services at the ’LAB for ALL: Laboratoryo, Konsulta at Gamot para sa Lahat’ caravan.

An initiative of first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, it aims to provide accessible and comprehensive healthcare and other government services to Filipinos nationwide.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco and brother, Rep. Toby Tiangco, expressed gratitude for the first lady’s visit and her commitment to public health.

“We appreciate the First Lady’s efforts to bring essential healthcare services closer to the people. This initiative helps address the medical needs of our residents, especially those who have limited access to healthcare,” the Tiangco brothers said.

The Navotas mayor stressed the significance of preventive healthcare.

“Programs like these allow us to detect and address health concerns early, reducing the burden on families and the healthcare system,” he added.

The top Navotas officials said Araneta-Marcos’ hands-on approach reflects her commitment to public service.

They said President Bongbong Marcos Jr. visited Navotas twice last year—first, when the city was affected by flooding due to the damaged navigational gate, and second, when an oil spill threatened the livelihood of Navoteño fisherfolk.

Beyond medical services, the caravan also provided other government assistance programs.

Three mini-medical missions were conducted across various villages in Navotas, the mayor said.

These initiatives reached over 2,000 residents, reinforcing the commitment to community health and well-being, according to the local government.

DSWD digital programs

Congressman Tiangco, House Committee chairman on Information and Communications Technology , has welcomed the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s digital initiatives aimed at improving its service delivery.

The DSWD’s newly-launched online donation platform and its one-stop-shop online system is in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to utilize technology to make government services more accessible.

The Navotas lawmaker said that digitalization, combined with the government’s streamlining efforts, has significantly boosted efficiency in government processes.

He cited the agency’s Harmonized Electronic License and Permit System or Helps, which is expected to improve its regulatory services.
