MANILA, Philippines – Iniulat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang pagtaas sa halaga ng mga ismagel na produkto na nasamsam sa bansa sa unang tatlong buwan ng 2025.
Mula Enero hanggang Marso 29, iniulat ng Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) ng BOC na nasa kabuuang P25.581 bilyon ang nasamsam na smuggled products mula sa 243 matagumpay na operasyon.
“For nearly four decades, our Enforcement and Security Service has stood as our first line of defense, serving as the enforcement arm of the Bureau of Customs,” pahayag ni Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.
“As someone who once served as a special agent, I understand the weight and demands of this role, both within our institution and beyond its walls,” dagdag niya.
Nagresulta ang mahigpit na border check ng ESS sa pagkakakumpiska ng P85.167 bilyon halaga ng smuggled goods noong 2024. RNT/JGC
