MANILA, Philippines – Bilang pagtalima sa utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na gawing prayoridad ang pagtatayo ng mga vital infrastructure projects sa bansa… aprubado na ng Department of Budget and Management, sa pangunguna ni Secretary Rolando Toledo, ang pagpapalabas ng P46.22 billion na pondo para sa 1,743 infrastructure projects sa buong bansa.
Sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro sa press briefing sa Malakanyang, ang pagpapalabas ng pondo ay para tiyakin na magpapatuloy ang implementasyon ng infrastructure projects, at walang proyekto ang maaantala.
Ang inisyatibang ito ay bahagi ng pagsisikap ng administrasyon na pabilisin ang infrastructure development at pasiglahin ang paglago ng ekonomiya.
Ani Castro, ang pondo ay naipalabas na sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) para sa infrastructure projects na magpapahusay sa ‘road connectivity at mobility’ sa iba’t ibang rehiyon sa bansa.
Kabilang naman sa mga pangunahing proyekto ay ang Davao City Bypass Construction Project na may approved allocation ng mahigit sa P288 million para sa fiscal year 2026.
Ukol naman sa edukasyon, ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Marcos ang pagpapalabas ng P17.27 bilyong pondo para sa pagpapatayo ng 4,960 silid-aralan sa buong bansa, para tugunan ang kakapusan ng silid-aralan sa bansa at tiyakin na ang mga mag-aaralan ay magagawang mag-arala ng mabuti, ligtas at may dignidad.
“The DBM Secretary has already approved the funds for the Department of Education (DepEd) as well,” ang tinuran ni Castro.
Sa kabilang dako, ipinag-utos naman ng Pangulo sa mga kinauukulang ahensiya ng pamahalaan na tiyakin na ang distribusyon ng financial assistance at iba pang tulong sa mga tao ay alinsunod sa batas.
Ani Castro, “the Open Government Partnership International, an organization of reformers inside and outside of government working to transform how government serves its citizens, has said that the Philippines promotes transparency, accountability and citizen participation when it comes to public spending.”
“The organization, in a social media post,cited the reforms being implemented by the government as “a step forward in making open government standards a practice in the Philippines.”aniya pa rin.
At bilang suporta sa direktiba ng Pangulo, winika ni Castro na ang pagpapalabas ng Circular Letter No. 2026-6 ay para palawigin ang paggamit ng open government principles sa lahat ng government programs, activities at projects.
Sa ilalim ng Circular, “all government agencies, government-owned or -controlled Corporations (GOCCs), state universities and colleges, and Local Government Units (LGUs) are directed to prioritize the use of mechanisms that promote transparency, stakeholder participation and accountability.” (KRIS JOSE)
