MANILA, Philippines- Walang nakitang oil spill matapos mabangga ng motor vessel ang isang motor tanker sa katubigan sakop ng Mabini, Batangas, sinabi ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
Ang mga sangkot na sasakyang-pandagat ay ang motor tanker na (Mtkr) Oak Express at motor vessel (MV) Everwin 11.
“Fortunately, there were no reports of significant damage or signs of oil spill from either vessel,” sabi ng PCG.
Base sa ulat ng PCG, ang MV Everwin 11 ay iniulat na bumangga sa Mtkr Oak Express port quarter habang nakadaong ito sa landoor Pier sa Barangay San Juan nitong Abril 22.
“The primary contributing factor to the collision was identified as strong sea currents and winds, causing the said vessel to drag while maneuvering and collided with Mtkr Oak Express, resulted to the dents, scratches, and punctured port quarter platings” ayon pa sa PCG.
Ayon pa sa PCG, sa kanilang visual assessment, malamang na ang environmental condition ang dahilan bakit nakaranas ng maneuvering difficulty ang Everwin 11. Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden
