MANILA, Philippines- Nakapagtala ang gaming sector ng bansa ng paglago sa unang quarter ng 2024, base sa Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) nitong Miyerkules.
Sa isang news release, sinabi ng PAGCOR na pumalo ang gross gaming revenues (GGR) ng industriya sa P81.70 bilyon sa January to March period, mas mataas ng 18.54% mula sa P68.92 bilyon sa parehong period noong nakaraang taon.
Tinawag ng state-run gaming firm at industry regulator ang pinakabagong GGR print na “another new record.”
Base sa PAGCOR, napanatili ng gaming industry ang paglago ng kita nito mula nang mag-umpisa ang post-pandemic recovery sa huling quarter ng 2022.
Nakapagtala ang electronic games (e-games) sector ng patuloy na record-breaking performance, sa P22.5 bilyong kita, o mahigit anim na beses ng 2023 first quarter revenue nitong P3.5 bilyon.
“The e-games revenue performance continues to exceed our projections, and this reflects how gaming technology and the proliferation of mobile devices are influencing not only our daily lives but our entertainment choices as well,” pahayag ni PAGCOR chairman at CEO Alejandro Tengco.
