MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ng Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc.(FFCCCII) na ang pagdukot kamakailan sa Chinese student ay isang isolated incident, kasunod ng pagkagambala ng ilang business groups sa peace and order situation na posibleng makaapekto sa mga negosyo sa bansa.
“It’s just isolated naman eh… Not all over the Philippines, so para sa akin ok lang ‘yan. I mean isolated kasi itong POGO, mga remnants, mga loko-loko,” giit ni FFCCCII president Cecilio Pedro.
Sinabi ng Philippine Exporters Confederation at ng Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) na mahihirapang makakalap ng mas maraming investments kung hindi matatag ang peace and order situation sa bansa.
“Nag uusap-usap kami ng business associates. It looks like they’re really concerned,” pahayag ni Sergio Ortiz-Luis ng Philippine Exporters Confederation.
“How can we encourage investors to go to our country if we can’t guarantee them their safety?” dagdag ni Eunina Mangio ng Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Inihayag ng business leaders na bukod sa kapayapaan at kaayusan, hamon din sa investors sa Pilipinas ang red tape, mataas na presyo ng kuryente at langis, bukod sa iba pa.
“Napakamahal ng kuryente na binabayaran namin sa Pilipinas dapat mabawasan yan, kasi investors mga malalaking negosyo that will come in require a lot of electricity,” ani Pedro.
“Isang concern na kanilang sinasabi number one, ulit ulit yung erratic policies, papalit-palit in terms of investment policies even labor laws,” tinuran naman ni Ortiz-Luis. RNT/SA
