Pagpayag ng Tsina sa medical evacuation sa BRP Sierra kalokohan – WPS taskforce

MANILA, Philippines – INILARAWAN ng isang opisyal ng National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) na katawa-tawa ang sinabi ng Tsina na pinayagan nito kamakailan ang medical evacuation sa may sakit na Philippine Navy (PN) personnel na naka-station sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal.

Sinabi ni NTS-WPS spokesperson, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commodore Jay Tarriela na naharap ang medical evacuation sa “numerous obstructing and delaying maneuvers” ng China Coast Guard (CCG) vessels.

“The claim made by the People’s Republic of China that they have permitted a medical evacuation for a sick PN personnel, to present themselves as humanitarian while asserting their authority to allow such operation to be carried out in the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone (EEZ), is ridiculous,” ayon kay Tarriela.

“The harassment resulted in hours of delay and showed China’s “low regard for a humanitarian mission”, aniya pa rin.

“This statement further confirms their illegal deployment of vessels within our EEZ and highlights their government’s view that the preservation of human life and welfare requires approval,” dagdag na wika ni Tarriela.

Nauna rito, sinasabing muling hinarang ng China Coast Guard (CCG) ang emergency medical evacua­tion ng isang pasyenteng maysakit na PH Navy personnel mula sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal sa pinagtatalunang teritoryo sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) nitong Linggo.

Sinabi ni Philippine Navy Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea (WPS) Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad na pinigilan ng 102 metrong habang barko ng CCG kasama ng anim na maritime militia vessels ang evacuation ng may sakit na PH Navy personnel.

Base sa satellite images mula sa South China Sea monitor Sealight, isang CCG ship at anim na Chinese maritime militias ang naglayag malapit sa PCGs BRP Cabra at BRP Cape Engaño kung saan dumaan ang mga ito may 14 nawtikal na milya sa silangang bahagi ng Ayungin Shoal.

Ayon kay Trinidad, umiwas na lamang at nagtungo sa direksyón ng Escoda Shoal ang dalawáng PCG vessels habang bantáy ng CCG vessel.
