MANILA, Philippines – Itinanggi ng Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) na hindi nila pinag-iinitan ang mga Chinese national sa kanilang mga operasyon laban sa Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogo) hubs.
Ito ang naging tugon ni PAOCC chief Gilbert Cruz nang tanungin patungkol sa abiso ng Chinese Embassy sa Manila na nagbababala ng ‘harassments’ sa mga mamamayan nito.
“Philippine law enforcement agencies have frequently interrogated and harassed Chinese citizens and enterprises,” saad sa pahayag ng embahada.
“As far as PAOCC is concerned, while most of the arrested are Chinese, there are also other foreign nationals, like Vietnamese and then Malaysian and Indonesian and other nationalities.”
“It just happened that so many foreign nationals are getting arrested, especially Chinese. But the government targeting Chinese people? I don’t think that’s true,” dagdag ni Cruz. RNT/JGC
