MANILA, Philippines- Pumanaw na si Palawan 3rd District Rep. Edward Hagedorn sa edad na 76, ayon sa anunsyo sa kanyang official social media page at ng Puerto Princesa City information office nitong Martes.
Si Hagedorn “died peacefully” nitong Martes, Oktubre 3, ayon sa pahayag sa kanyang Facebook page.
“Cong. Ed’s life speaks volumes, particularly in his role as a champion for the environment, tourism, agriculture, and peace and order,” saad sa post.
“His efforts created inclusive spaces for the community and inspired a collective desire for change.”
Hindi pa inaanunsyo ng pamilya ng mambabatas ang public service arrangements, anito pa.
Kinumpirma rin ng information office ng Puerto Princesa City, kung saan nanungkulan bilang alkalde si Hagedorn mula 1992 hanggang June 2013, ang kanyang pagkamatay.
“The City Government of Puerto Princesa mourns with his family,” anito.
“His passing was a great loss to the city.”
Binanggit ng local government na opisyal na kinilala ang underground river bilang world’s new 7 wonders of nature sa panunungkulan ni Hagedorn bilang alkalde.
Nitong Hunyo, hinatulang guilty ng Sandiganbayan si Hagedorn sa malversation of public property sa hindi niya pagsuko ng mga armas sa pagtatapos ng kanyang termino bilang alkalde. RNT/SA
