MANILA, Philippines – Inihayag ng National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) na “fully restored” na ang Panay sub-grid, matapos ang malawakang pagkawala ng kuryente sa mga probinsya ng Western Visayas.
Sa 12 p.m. report, sinabi ng NGCP na naabot na ng Panay sub-grid ang 300 megawatts (MW) ng kuryente na kailangan para mapanatili ang suplay sa rehiyon.
Ito ay matapos na makasabay ang Palm Concepcion Power Corporation (PCPC) sa capacity ng 135 MW sa Panay sub-grid bandang 1:33 ng umaga ng Biyernes.
“NGCP is now removing restriction of demand and is fully restoring loads at Panay Island following the synchronization of PCPC (135MW) to the grid at 1:33AM this morning, and their declaration that their unit is now stable.”
“As of this advisory, 347.2MW is being served by Panay power plants, with 5.7MW exported elsewhere to grid, for a total of 341.4MW served loads,” dagdag pa ng NGCP.
Sa kabila nito, ang ‘gradual restoration’ ng grid ay nangangahulugang makararanas pa rin ng rotating brownouts ang mga residente ng Panay at iba pang lugar sa Western Visayas.
“Because you are going to ask distribution utilities to reduce their load so naturally, it will result in rolling brownouts but it will not result in a total collapse,” ani Lotilla, ilang oras bago ianunsyo ang full restoration.
Ipinunto niya na katulad ng outage sa Western Visayas noong Abril 2023, ang insidente ay inabot ng tatlong araw bago makarekober. RNT/JGC
