MANILA, Philippines – SINABI ng Malakanyang na ang papel ni Rossana Fajardo bilang commissioner ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) ay “always meant to be temporary.”
Inihayag ito ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Dave Gomez matapos magbitiw sa puwesto si Fajardo bilang ICI commissioner, epektibo December 31, 2025.
“Ms. Fajardo was brought in for a clear financial forensic purpose- to closely review the money linked to the projects under investigation and help trace where public funds went. That work is now finished,” ayon kay Gomez.
Ani Gomez, ang mga natuklasan ni Fajardo ay magiging bahagi ng rekumendasyon ng ICI sa Ombudsman at itu-turn over sa kinauukulang ahensiya ng gobyerno.
“As the Commission continues its work in the coming months, the focus is now on final reports and the proper handover of documents to offices like the Office of the Ombudsman for the next steps,” dagdag na wika ni Gomez.
Sa kabilang dako, sinabi naman ni INDI magtatapos sa naging pagbibitiw sa puwesto ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary at Palace Press Officer Claire Castro na tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang ginagawang imbestigasyon ng ICI hinggil sa maanomalyang flood control projects.
Nakompleto na aniya kasi ni Fajardo ang ‘specific task’ na hiniling sa kanya na kanyang gampanan kaya’t hindi dapat pagtakhan ng publiko kung magbitiw si Fajardo sa kanyang puwesto.
“Kinilala ng administrasyon ang napakahalagang papel na ginampanan ni ICI Comm. Rosanna Fajardo para makalikom, maaral at ma-assess ng mahahalagang ebidensya upang mapanagot ang mga sangkot sa maanomalyang flood control projects,” ayon kay Castro.
“She has already accomplished her tasks based on her mandate. Ngunit patuloy pa rin ang pag iimbestiga kasama ang iba pang investigating bodies. Hindi pa tapos ang laban ng administrasyon kontra korapsyon,” ang diing pahayag ni Castro.
Samantala, sinabi ni Gomez na isinama si Fajardo sa ICI para sa isang malinaw na financial forensic purpose- masusing rerebisahin ang pera na iniuugnay sa mga proyekto na sumasailalim sa imbestigasyon at tumutulong sa pagsubaybay kung saan napunta ang public funds.
“That work is now finished. Her full findings will form part of the ICI’s recommendations to the Ombudsman and will also be turned over to the proper government offices, including the Commission on Audit, so the process can move forward,” ayon kay Gomez.
Pinasalamatan naman ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos si Fajardo para sa kanyang serbisyo at pagtulong para ang public funds ay ‘properly accounted for.’
