MANILA, Philippines – Inalis na sa pwesto ang pulis na nag-viral matapos harangin ang isang trak ng bumbero, ayon sa Marikina police.
Ito ay sa kabila nang pag-uusap ng may-ari ng emergency volunteer vehicle at ng sangkot na pulis.
Sa pahayag, ni-reassign ang naturang pulis at nahaharap sa imbestigasyon.
“Nevertheless, considering that the incident was captured on video and for purposes of internal accountability, and in adherence to existing Philippine National Police policies, the involved police officer was temporarily relieved from his current post and reassigned to the Sub-Station, and thereafter designated to the Station Headquarters Support Unit (SHSU),” pahayag ni Police Colonel Jenny DC Tecson, officer-in-charge ng Marikina City police.
“He has likewise been directed to submit a written explanation to determine whether there is sufficient basis for a possible pre-charge, notwithstanding the amicable settlement reached by the parties,” dagdag ni Tecson.
Nauna nang nag-isyu ng show cause order ang Land Transportation Office laban sa pulis maging sa may-ari at drayber ng fire truck matapos na mag-viral ang naturang insidente sa social media.
Inilarawan ng Marikina City Police ang “brief” tension bilang “stem[ming] from a momentary misunderstanding.”
“It was reported that the actions of the truck driver initially caused confusion, as it was unclear whether the vehicle intended to proceed or stop. As a result, the police vehicle continued moving forward. The truck then followed closely and suddenly sounded its horn loudly, which startled the police officer.”
Iniulat din ng Marikina City police ang “near-miss incident” sangkot ang isang tricycle bilang resulta ng galaw ng naturang trak.
“Despite the brief tension, the situation quickly de-escalated and ended in light conversation between the parties… The owner of the truck personally reached out to apologize on behalf of his driver and expressed willingness to resolve the matter peacefully,” sinabi pa sa pahayag.
“Both parties were brought together, and all involved agreed to put the incident to rest and requested the removal of posts related to the video,” dagdag pa. RNT/JGC
