MANILA, Philippines- Nagtalaga si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng mga pangunahing senior official sa Department of Finance (DOF).
Ang bagong roster ng mga senior official ayon sa DOF ang susuporta kay Finance Secretary Ralph Recto “in ensuring long-term fiscal sustainability and accelerating inclusive economic growth.”
“I thank the President for appointing a new group of distinguished professionals in the DOF with whom I have worked in the past. They are valuable additions to the existing team in the DOF, which is composed of equally talented individuals and who have been important pillars for the agency,” ayon kay Recto.
Sinabi ng DOF na itinalaga si Rolando Tungpalan bilang Undersecretary para sa Corporate Affairs and Strategic Infrastructure Group.
Si Tungpalan ang magiging “in- charge” sa pag pagpapabilis sa roll-out ng “Build Better More” program ng administrasyong Marcos at tiyakin ang mabilis na aksyon ng gobyerno sa pamumuhunan sa pamamagitan ng “addressing critical bottlenecks and creating a conducive environment that welcomes investors with a red carpet.”
Si Tungpalan ay itinuturing na seasoned economist na nagsilbi bilang undersecretary para sa Investment Programming ng National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
Bukod kay Tungpalan, itinalaga rin si Joven Balbosa, humawak ng senior roles sa mga mahahalagang multilateral agencies, bilang undersecretary para sa International Finance Group (IFG).
Pangungunahan naman ni Balbosa ang pagsisikap na i-secure ang foreign development financing at bumalangkas ng mga polisiya na may kinalaman sa maingat na external resource mobilization.
Idagdag pa rito, si Balbosa ay ang pangunahing mangunguna sa DOF sa pakikipagtulungan sa ibang ahensya ng gobyerno ukol sa international agreements saklaw ang mga lugar ng kalakalan, pamumuhunan at tax treaties.
Bago pa ang kanyang appointment, nagsilbi si Balbosa bilang advisor sa Southeast Asian Department ng Asian Development Bank (ADB) at ekonomista sa World Bank (WB).
Nanungkulan naman si Gerald Alan Quebral sa posisyon bilang assistant secretary para sa Revenue Operations Group (ROG).
Inatasan si Quebral na tiyakin na makakaya ng pamahalaan na maabot ng gobyerno ang revenue collection targets taon-taon sa pamamagitan ng pangangasiwa sa operasyon ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
Nagsilbi si Quebral bilang executive director ng Congressional Oversight Committee on Comprehensive Tax Reform Program sa Senado at Kamara.
Itinalaga naman si Sharon Almanza bilang National Treasurer matapos maglingkod bilang officer-in-charge ng Bureau of the Treasury (BTr).
Nauna nang nagsilbi si Almanza bilang deputy treasurer ng BTr at pumangalawa sa World Bank Group mula 2021 hanggang 2023 bilang alternate executive director at senior advisor for the constituency ng Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Philippines, Suriname, at Trinidad and Tobago.
Humawak din si Almanza ng iba’t ibang posisyon sa DOF bilang division chief ng IFG para sa Debt and Risk Management and Multilateral Assistance.
Itinalaga rin ni Pangulong Marcos si Donalyn Minimo bilang director IV ng IFG at Cherry Mae Gonzales bilang director IV ng Information Management Service (IMS).
Ang bagong senior officers na kasama sa roster ng kasalukuyang senior finance officials ay sina Chief-of-Staff at Undersecretary for IMS, Political and Legislative Liaison, at Climate Finance Policy Alu Dorotan Tiuseco; Undersecretary for the Privatization and Partnerships Group Catherine Fong; Undersecretary for Legal Services and Local Finance Group Bayani Agabin; at Undersecretary for Special Concerns Maria Edita Tan. Kris Jose
