MANILA, Philippines – Nangako si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na ipagpapatuloy ng gobyerno na isulong ang reporma para palakasin ang investor confidence at tulungan na lumago ang stock market.
Inihayag ito ng Pangulo sa isinagawang listing ceremony ng Mynt Inc., itinuturing na parent company ng GCash, sa Main Board ng Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).
Ang listing ceremony ay tanda ng pagsisimula ng public trading ng Mynt’s shares sa stock market.
“We will continue to pursue reforms that strengthen investor confidence and support the development of our capital market,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang naging talumpati sa PSE Tower sa Bonifacio Global City sa Taguig City.
“I hope that Mynt’s listing will also encourage other Filipino enterprises to pursue new avenues for growth and explore the stock market,” ayon sa Chief Executive.
Winika pa nito na ang timing ng listing ay “especially meaningful” habang ang stock market ay nangangailangan ng ‘renewed investor interest’ at mas malawak na partisipasyon.
“We recognize that investors have become more cautious and that attracting fresh capital remains a challenge. But Mynt’s initial public offering gives us reason for optimism,” aniya pa rin.
Sa kabilang dako, binawasan naman ng gobyerno ang stock transaction tax mula 0.6% ay naging 0.1% sa pamamagitan ng Capital Markets Efficiency Promotion Act para sa mas mababang trading costs at paghusayin ang competitiveness ng Philippine stock market.
Hinikayat din niya ang private sector partners na ipagpatuloy ang “investing in ideas, businesses, and technologies that create jobs and expand opportunities for Filipinos.”
“For its part, the government will continue to work to improve the ease of doing business, promote fair competition, and support responsible innovation,” anito.
“I hope this milestone marks the beginning for greater opportunities for Filipino enterprises, renewed confidence in our capital markets, and broader participation in our country’s economic growth,” ang winika pa rin ni Pangulong Marcos. (KRIS JOSE)
