MANILA, Philippines – Naglabas ng abiso ang Philippine Embassy sa Bangkok para sa mga Filipino laban sa pagbiyahe sa pitong probinsya sa Thailand, ang Ubon Ratchatani, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Sa Kaeo, Buri Ram, Chantaburi, at Trat kasunod ng tensyon sa pagitan ng Thailand at Cambodia.
“Travel by Filipinos to the aforementioned provinces is highly discouraged due to the ongoing situation,” saad sa pahayag ng embahada nitong Sabado, Hulyo 26.
“The Philippine Embassy in Thailand stands ready to assist all Filipinos in need and will continue to monitor the situation in Thailand.”
Samantala, nagpaalala din ito sa mga Filipino na naninirahan sa border areas na “earnestly follow the advice, including any evacuation orders, from local public safety and community officials, their employers, and other pertinent authorities in the affected areas.”
“All overseas Filipinos in areas near the border are also enjoined to exercise extreme caution, remain vigilant, take steps to ensure their personal safety, and report their whereabouts to the Philippine Embassy,” dagdag pa.
“The Filipino community is further encouraged to actively monitor official communication channels for security updates.”
Matatandaan na sumiklab ang bakbakan sa pagitan ng Thailand at Cambodia noong Huwebes malapit sa Ta Moan Thom Temple, na kalaunan ay kumalat pa sa anim na lugar sa Thai-Cambodian border.
Sa ulat, umabot na sa 32 ang bilang ng nasawi sa dalawang bansa at 130 naman ang sugatan.
