PH, US sanib-pwersa sa combat, search, rescue drill sa Zambales

MANILA, Philippines- Nagsagawa ang mga sundalo ng Pilipinas at ng United States ng combat, search, and rescue (CSAR) drill sa Iba, Zambales bilang bahagi ng Balikatan Exercise ngayong taon, ayon sa combined joint information bureau ng training nitong Martes.

“The 505th Search and Rescue Group (SRG), alongside US counterparts, executed realistic CSAR missions, simulating downed aircrew recovery in hostile maritime conditions,” pahayag ng Combined Joint Information Bureau ng Balikatan 2025.

Sa kasagsagan ng drill, ginamit ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) personnel ang Bell 205A at Super Huey helicopters upang magsagawa ng “helocast insertions and hoist extractions with aerial security.”

Natunton ng US C-130J ang survivor at nag-deploy ng survival kit. Samantala, nagsagawa rin ang US Marine Corps V-22 Osprey ng parallel CSAR operation.

Para sa post-recovery part, nagbigay ang S7 aeromedical team ng PAF ng simulated in-flight treatment bago ilipat ang pasyente sa ground medical personnel sa Clark Air Base sa Pampanga.

“These complex drills sharpened both nations’ readiness for life-saving missions in contested environments and the vital role of the 505th SRG in national and allied operations,” anang Combined Joint Information Bureau.

Nagsimula ang Balikatan, isang annual exercise sa pagitan ng Manila at Washington, noong April 21 kung saan halos 17,000 sundalo ang inaasahang makikibahagi. RNT/SA
