MANILA, Philippines- Hinikayat ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) nitong Biyernes ang publiko na manatiling alerto at makiisa bago sumapit ang May 12 midterm elections.
Base sa OCD, itataas ang “blue alert” ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (NDRRMOC) mula May 11 hanggang 14 upang matiyak ang maayos na koordinasyon ng mga kaukulang ahensya sa panahong ito.
Sa panahong ito, magdu-duty ang mga tauhan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Coast Guard, at Philippine National Police (PNP) sa NDRRMC upang tumugon sa mga isyu at kahilingan mula sa regional disaster councils at partner agencies, habang paiigtingin ng OCD regional offices at disaster management centers ang kanilang pagsisikap sa pag-monitor sa election-related incidents at makikipagtulungan sa mga awtoridad.
“The role of the OCD is crucial in promoting a culture of preparedness and resilience… We’re calling on everyone—candidates, voters, and stakeholders—to cooperate with authorities and stay alert during this time. A peaceful and safe election depends on our collective effort,” pahayag ni OCD administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno.
“Our commitment is to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies. We will work closely with all partner agencies to keep order and ensure safety as we go through this busy period,” dagdag ng opisyal. RNT/SA
