MANILA, Philippines – Nakikipag-ugnayan ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa Interpol sa pag-aresto kay dating presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Cassandra Ong, at iba pang sangkot sa kasong qualified trafficking in persons.
Sa press conference, sinabi ni bagong PNP chief Police General Nicolas Torre III ang komunikasyon sa Interpol ay isang ‘standard action.’
“Standard naman ‘yun. This is a whole government approach. The Department of Foreign Affairs is cancelling his passport and the other accused so they will not be able to travel freely at sila ay maibalik dito sa bansa,” ani Torre.
“So Interpol is just one of the many mechanisms that we can use and we can harness, we can tap para sa pagbabalik dito, sa repatriation niya dito sa Pilipinas,” dagdag pa niya.
Nauna nang sinabi ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na inihahanda na nito ang mga dokumento na kailangan para hilingin ang paglalabas ng red notice laban kay Roque ng Interpol.
Si Roque at 50 iba pa ay subject ng arrest warrants na may kaugnayan sa illegal na aktibidad sa POGO hub Lucky South 99 sa Pampanga. RNT/JGC
