IN the fight against illegal drugs, success is measured not by rhetoric but by results that protect communities and restore public confidence.

In Western Visayas, the Police Regional Office 6 proved this point with a decisive 2025 anti-drug campaign that led to the seizure of more than ₱514 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 2,346 suspects.

These gains reflect focused leadership, disciplined execution and a clear sense of mission under PBGen. Josefino Ligan.

Through 1,806 intelligence-led operations, PRO6 dismantled both high-value and street-level drug networks, confiscating over 75 kilograms of shabu and 22 kilograms of marijuana.

Beyond the impressive numbers, each operation represented a community spared from the social and economic damage caused by illegal drugs.

The strong contributions of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, Iloilo City Police Office, RPDEU-6, and other field units underscored a culture of teamwork and accountability fostered by Ligan’s steady command.

What defined the campaign was precision and professionalism.

Buy-bust operations, the lawful implementation of search warrants, and close coordination with partner agencies and community informants ensured that enforcement actions were both effective and credible.

By anchoring operations on solid intelligence and respect for the rule of law, PRO6 demonstrated that a firm anti-drug stance can go hand in hand with ethical policing and public trust.

These regional accomplishments resonate strongly with the national direction of PNP Acting Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio “Tateng” Nartatez Jr., whose vision of a disciplined, service-oriented and people-centered police force is shaping a Bagong PNP.

PRO6’s performance shows how national leadership and regional command can align to produce real impact.

When leadership delivers, victories against illegal drugs are no longer abstract goals — they become lived realities, reflected in safer streets, empowered communities, and a more secure future for Western Visayas.
