MANILA, Philippines – Isang pulis na nakatalaga sa Quezon City Police District ang inaresto matapos masangkot sa viral hit-and-run incident sa C5 Road sa Pasig City.
Ayon sa National Capital Region Police Office, ang police staff sergeant ay kabilang sa District Mobile Force Battalion ng QCPD at kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya habang iniimbestigahan sa kasong kriminal at administratibo.
Nangyari ang insidente bandang alas-7 ng umaga nang umano’y banggain ng pulis ang isang civilian rider gamit ang pula at itim na motorsiklo sa C5 Road.
Ayon sa NCRPO, pinilit umano ng pulis na paalisin sa kalsada ang rider dahilan para masugatan ito at masira ang motorsiklo bago tumakas nang hindi nagbibigay ng tulong.
“The PNP does not have favorites when it comes to accountability,” ayon kay Anthony Aberin.
“Whether the suspect is a civilian or a member of our own organization, the law applies equally. Misconduct will not be tolerated; it will be confronted,” dagdag niya.
Sinabi naman ni Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. na inatasan na ang isang “full and impartial investigation” sa insidente.
“Any personnel found to have violated laws, rules, or regulations shall be held fully accountable and subjected to appropriate administrative and criminal proceedings,” ani Nartatez. RNT/MND
