MANILA, Philippines- Iniutos ng Court of Appeals ang patuloy na operasyon ng news site na Rappler.
Ito ay matapos baligtarin ng Court of Appeals Special 7th division ang 2018 na ruling ng Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) na ipasara ang naturang media company na ang co-founder ay si Nobel laureate Maria Ressa na kritiko ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Isinantabi at binaligtad ng CA ang SEC decision dahil sa “grave abuse of discretion.”
Ayon sa CA, ang closure order ng SEC laban sa Rappler ay kontra sa “established procedures, jurisprudential and legal instructions, and clear intent of the Constitution”.
Ang SEC shutdown order ay inilabas Hunyo 29, 2022 o isang araw bago umalis sa pwesto si Duterte.
Ipinag-utos ng CA sa SEC na ibalik ang Certificate of Incorporation ng Rappler Inc., at Rappler Holdings Corp sa rekord at system at bawiin ang mga ilegal na inisyung kautusan. Teresa Tavares
