MANILA, Philippines- Humiling si Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian, ambassador to the Philippines ng Tsina ng “renewal ng commitment” ng diplomatic ties ng dalawang bansa.
Nanawagan si Huang sa Pilipinas na makipagtulungan sa Tsina sa pagsusulong ng kooperasyon at isulong ang “regional peace and stability.”
Sinabi ni Huang na ang relasyon ng Tsina at Pilipinas “have maintained a general trend of forward-moving, despite some ups and downs.”
“History has also shown that as long as our differences are properly managed, the road of China-Philippines cooperation will be even broader,” ayon kay Huang sa reception ng pagdiriwang ng 75th founding anniversary ng People’s Republic of China sa Taguig City, Huwebes ng gabi.
“Let us renew the original commitment to our diplomatic ties, keep in mind the well-being of the two peoples, always remember the fundamental interests of our two countries, and work together to steer clear of disruptions,” tinuran pa ng opisyal.
Sa kabilang dako, sinabi ni Huang na dapat na nakatuon ang pansin ng Manila at Beijing sa pagsusulong ng “benefits” at “interests” sa mga mamamayang Pilipino at Chinese.
Ang kalatas na ito ay tugon makaraan ang ilang buwang tensyon sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa ukol sa serye ng mga mapanganib na insidente sa West Philippine Sea, ang pinakabago ay ang nangyaring pagbangga sa Philippine Coast Guard vessel na nakaistasyon sa Escoda (Sabina) Shoal.
Samantala, sa isang pre-recorded speech, sinabi ni Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Maria Theresa Lazaro na magtutulungan ang Pilipinas at Tsina para gawing mahusay ang “diplomatic, economic, at people-to-people relations,” lalo pa’t magmamarka ang 50 taon ng bilateral ties ng dalawang bansa sa 2025.
“While the relations between Philippines and China’s relationship are not always smooth-sailing, we recognize the efforts and determination of both our countries to handle challenging issues through peaceful means, particularly through dialogue and diplomacy,” ayon kay Lazaro.
“We are committed to enriching our comprehensive strategic cooperation on the basis of mutual benefits and mutual respect as two equal sovereign states,” dagdag niya. Kris Jose
