MANILA, Philippines- Sinimulan ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) ang retraining program para sa enforcers nito kasunod ng viral incident sa Bohol kung saan lima sa mga tauhan nito ang inakusahan ng pananakit sa isang motorcycle rider.
Tinaguriang Retooling Training Program, sinabi ni LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II na nilalayon nitong i-update ang enforcers ng ahensya sa protocol at procedures sa pagpapairal ng road safety rules and regulations.
“This initiative ensures that LTO personnel remain updated, well-equipped, and efficient in carrying out their duties,” wika ni Mendoza.
“By advancing the legal knowledge and enforcement capabilities of personnel, this will ensure consistency and effectiveness of land transportation law enforcement, improve road safety, and foster greater public trust in the professionalism and integrity of LTO field enforcement personnel nationwide,” dagdag niya.
Saklaw ng programa ang pagtalakay sa Republic Act No. 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code) at iba pang kaukulang land transportation laws, rules, at regulations, partikular ang R.A. No. 8750 (Seat Belts Use Act of 1999) at R.A. No. 11229 (Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act).
“The retooling training program also includes guidelines and procedures in the inspection of motor vehicles and protocol and procedures in the conduct of law enforcement operations,” ani Mendoza.
Nauna nang ipinag-utos ni Mendoza ang refresher training program kasunod ng viral incident sa Bohol sangkot ang isang motorcycle rider at enforcers ng LTO.
Ipinag-utos naman ni Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon ang pagsibak sa limang sangkot na LTO personnel. RNT/SA
