MANILA, Philippines- Ipinatawag ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) nitong Huwebes ang isang motorcycle rider na nakaligtas sa banggaan sa kapwa rider matapos ang “Superman” stunt habang nagmamaneho sa kahabaan ng Marilaque (Marikina-Rizal-Laguna-Quezon) Highway.
Sinabi ni LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II na ipinadala ang show cause order (SCO) sa tahanan ng rider sa Lipa City, Batangas.
“I personally saw the video and although it was really tragic, that could have not happened if they just chose to be responsible motorcycle riders,” pahayag ni Mendoza.
Bago ang pakikilahok ng rider sa LTO hearing, pinagsumite ang rider ng written explanation kung bakit hindi siya dapat parusahan sa reckless driving.
“There will be a hearing on this case as part of the due process and I expect the rider to explain well since what is at stake here is the privilege given to him by the government to ride a motorcycle,” ani Mendoza.
Bukod sa pagkasawi ng kapwa rider, sugatan sa insidente ang nasa anim na road users.
Mahaharap ang nakaligtas na rider, sinasabing isang motovlogger, sa posibleng license suspension o revocation kung mapatunayang siya ay “improper person to operate a motor vehicle.”
Ang SCO ay nilagdaan ni LTO Calabarzon Regional Director Elmer Decena at inisyu sa driver dahil sa “recklessly or without reasonable caution and regard for the safety of others performed unsafe maneuvers.” RNT/SA
