MANILA, Philippines – BINIGYANG-diin ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang kahalagahan ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) maritime patrols sa gitna ng walang puknat na geopolitical tensions sa Asia-Pacific region.
Sa idinaos na 76th founding anniversary ng PAF sa Clark Air Base sa Pampanga, inilarawan ng Pangulo ang maritime patrols ng PAF bilang “essential in upholding our territorial integrity and safeguarding Philippine maritime zones.”
“The days ahead will not be easy and will demand every ounce of our strength and our resilience. The winds of change signal geopolitical challenges around our region and other parts of the world that affect us,” ang sinabi ng Pangulo sa mga tauhan ng PAF.
Muling pinagtibay ng Pangulo ang suporta ng administrasyon sa Armed Forces of the Philippines, na aniya’y makikita sa ilalim ng AFP modernization program.
Pinasalamatan din ng Pangulo ang mga tauhan ng PAF para sa kanilang ambag sa “laying the groundwork for the enhancement” sa defense capability ng bansa.
Sa pagdiriwang ng anibersaryo, ginawaran ng Pangulo ang ilang PAF servicemen para sa kanilang achievements.
“As members of the Philippine Air Force, you must always uphold these values as the custodians of our skies, entrusted with the task of upholding our national interests, protecting our people and defending our territory,” anito.
Bago pa pangunahan ang anniversary rites sa Clark, dumalo rin ang Pangulo sa PAF’s capability demonstration sa Col. Ernesto Rabina Air Base sa Tarlac.
Ang pahayag ng Pangulo ay bunsod na rin ng patuloy pagkaipit ng Pilipinas sa crossfire sa lumalagong geopolitical tensions sa pagitan ng Estados Unidos at China, at maging sa nagpapatuloy na maritime territorial dispute sa South China Sea. Kris Jose
