MANILA, Philippines – Nagpaalala si Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. nitong Miyerkules, Nobyembre 1, sa mga Filipino na alalahanin ang mga sundalong nasawi sa pakikipaglaban para sa bansa.
“This season is an invitation for us to honor all the saints, both known and unknown, and celebrate the lives of our departed loved ones. We also take the time to honor the legacy, memory, and patriotic deeds of our fallen comrades who selflessly dedicated their lives in service to the country and made the ultimate sacrifice,” saad sa pahayag ni Brawner para sa paggunita ng bansa sa Undas.
Posible rin aniya na magsilbing inspirasyon pa para sa mga Filipino ang kabayanihang ipinamalas ng mga sundalong Filipino.
“I wish you a meaningful and solemn respite, and may the departed bless us with peace and grace during these days of remembrance,” dagdag pa niya.
Samantala, nagdaos ng synchronized candle-lighting ceremony sa Libingan ng mga Bayani sa Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City ang Philippine Army sa pamamagitan ng Grave Services Unit of the Army Support Command and Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, na nilahukan ng
Boy at Girl Scouts mula sa Fort Bonifacio National High School.
“The synchronized lighting of candles was observed to pay tribute to a life ‘well-lived’ by the soldiers, heroes, national artists, and scientists, and former Philippine presidents of the country,” saad sa pahayag ni PA spokesperson Col. Xerxes Trinidad.
Sinabi naman ni Army commander Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido na ang PA ay nakikiisa sa pag-aalala ngayong Undas sa buhay at impluwensya ng mga bayaning Filipino, lalo na ang mga nasawing sundalo. RNT/JGC
