Search and rescue sa earthquake-hit Myanmar sinimulan ng PH Army team

MANILA, Philippines- Nagsimula na ang Philippine Army team na magpartisipa sa search and rescue mission para sa mga indibiduwal sa Myanmar na winasak ng magnitude-7.7 earthquake noong nakaraang linggo.

Sa isang kalatas, sinabi ng Philippine Army na ang 10-man Search and Rescue (SAR) team mula 525th Combat Engineer Battalion of Combat Engineer Regiment ay sumama para gampanan ang mga ‘specific designations’ kasama ang ibang contingents.

“The team emphasized the adherence to specific security measures to mitigate the risks of petty crimes and the safety protocols to be observed in case of aftershocks,” ang sinabi ng Philippine Army.

Inihayag pa rin ng Philippine Army na ang SAR team ay may mahalagang papel sa humanitarian assistance at disaster response matapos ang malakas na paglindol sa Turkiye noong February 2023.

Nauna rito, ang first batch ng Philippine contingent na may 58 miyembro ay dumating sa Myanmar noong April 1, habang ang second batch na may 33 miyembro ay noong April 2.

Si Lieutenant Colonel Erwen S. Diploma ang mamumuno sa Philippine contingent na binubuo ng urban search at rescue teams mula sa Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Bureau of Fire Protection, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Department of Environment and Natural Resources at Private Sector (EDC and APEX Mining).

Bahagi rin ng Philippine contingent ang medical assistance team mula sa Department of Health (DOH) at coordinators mula sa Office of Civil Defense (OCD). Kris Jose
