MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) na hindi ipinaalam sa kanila ang dahilan ng pagkakaalis kay Col. Raymund Dante Lachica bilang pinuno ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Security and Protection Group — ang unit na nakatalaga upang magbigay ng seguridad sa Pangalawang Pangulo.
“The Office of the Vice President was informed of the relief of Col. Raymund Dante Lachica upon his receipt of the order yesterday, October 6, 2025,” ayon sa pahayag ng OVP.
Dagdag pa ng OVP, “No message or explanation was given to the OVP.”
Sa kabila nito, pinasalamatan ng tanggapan si Col. Lachica para sa kanyang serbisyo at ipinahayag ang paggalang sa ipinamalas nitong “resoluteness, professionalism, and integrity.”
“The OVP expresses its sincere gratitude for the outstanding contributions made by Col. Lachica to our institution,” ayon sa pahayag.
“We have accomplished more than our targets because of his support to the vision of a life of peace and comfort for all Filipinos,” dagdag pa ng OVP.
Nauna rito, kinumpirma ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) nitong Martes, Oktubre 7, ang pagkakasibak kay Col. Lachica bilang commander ng AFP Security and Protection Group (ASPG), dating tinatawag na Vice President Security and Protection Group (VPSPG), kaugnay umano sa isyung may kinalaman sa “alleged misuse” ng confidential funds ng OVP.
Epektibo mula noong Sabado, Oktubre 4, ang reassignment ni Col. Lachica bilang miyembro ng Philippine Army. Kris Jose
