MANILA, Philippines- Iginiit ng Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Sabado na kasado ang paghahanda para sa seguridad para sa ikatlong State of the Nation Address (Sona) ni Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa gitna ng inaasahan nilang kilos-protesta.
Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni PNP Spokesperson Jean Fajardo na inaasahan na nilang may magaganap na kilos-protesta, may igawad mang rally permits o wala.
“We will probably have minor adjustments in the coming days if ever that rally permits will be granted,” pahayag ni Fajardo.
Binanggit ni Fajardo na kung hindi gagawaran ang mga raliyista ng permit to rally, maaari nila itong isagawa sa Quezon Memorial Circle o sa University of the Philippines (UP).
Nakasaad sa Public Assembly Act of 1985 o ang Batasan Pambansa (BP) 880 na “the constitutional right of the people peaceably to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances is essential and vital to the strength and stability of the State.”
Sinasabi rin ng batas na kinakailangan ng permit para sa pagsasagawa ng kilos-protesta sa isang pampublikong lugar habang hindi naman rekisitos ang permit “if the public assembly shall be done or made in a freedom park duly established by law or ordinance or in private property, in which case only the consent of the owner or the one entitled to its legal possession is required, or in the campus of a government-owned and operated educational institution which shall be subject to the rules and regulations of said educational institution.”
