MANILA, Philippines – Unti-unti nang naibabalik ang suplay ng kuryente sa Masbate matapos itong salantain ng Bagyong Opong.
Ayon sa Office of Civil Defense in Bicol (OCD 5), nasa 85% na ng kuryente sa Masbate City ang naibalik na bagamat marami pa ring lugar sa probinsya ang walang kuryente.
Sinabi ni OCD Bicol Director Claudio Yucot na “in full swing” ang power restoration efforts sa probinsya.
“The Department of Energy’s Task Force Kapatid, with 30 teams, is on the ground to reinstall or erect 1,178 electric posts toppled by Opong,” aniya.
Sa panayam naman sa radyo, sinabi ni Governor Richard Kho na may matinding pangangailangan ang probinsya para sa inuming tubig at kuryente.
“We can’t say the exact date when power will be (fully) restored, but rest assured, all efforts are being exerted to speed up the process,” ani Kho. RNT/JGC
