MANILA, Philippines- Nagbigay ang Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) ng halos US$ 150,000 sa Philippine government bilang tulong sa mga apektado ni tropical storm “Kristine” na tumama sa bansa noong nakaraang buwan.
Katumbas ang donasyon ng halos P8.7 milyon, na ibinigay sa kasagsagan ng pagbata ng Taiwan sa parehong weather disturbance.
“The assistance given by Taiwan will help victims of the recent calamity that hit wide areas in Luzon rebuild their lives. It has so far provided will definitely boost the determination of our people to rebuild their lives and put them back on the road to recovery,” pahayag ni Manila Economic and Cultural Office chairperson Cheloy E. Velicaria-Garafil.
Nauna nang nagbigay ang Taiwan ng 500 metric tons ng Taiwan rice bilang bahagi ng 2,000 MT rice donation para sa calamity victims.
Sinabi naman ni TECO Representative Wallace Minn Chow: “Disasters like this remind us all of our shared humanity and the importance of standing together in times of trial.”
