MANILA, Philippines- Sinimulan na ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ang ‘technical assessment at preparatory planning’ para sa pagkakabit ng free WiFi models sa lahat ng tren at istasyon ng Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3).
Sa katunayan, inanunsyo ng DICT ang pagdi-dispatch ng mga team mula sa Free WiFi for All (FWFA) Program nito sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga ehekutibo ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) at MRT-3 para simulan ang groundworks ng proyekto.
Ang free WiFi program ay isang inisyatiba sa ilalim ng Bagong Pilipinas ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. para makapagbigay ng ‘free connectivity’ sa daang libong mananakay araw-araw sa tinaguriang ‘busiest rail service’ sa Metro Manila.
“A Memorandum of Agreement is also in the works, signaling the project’s swift transition from announcement to action,” ang sinabi ng DICT.
“Whether a student reviews lessons or a delivery rider tracks updates mid-route or a worker accesses online services, the government under President Marcos is empowering the everyday Filipino to thrive in a connected world,” dagdag ng departamento.
Nauna rito, sinabi ni DICT Secretary Henry Aguda na ipatutupad ang pinahusay na libreng Wi-Fi sa lahat ng istasyon ng MRT-3na may pangmatagalang layunin na palawakin ito kahit sa loob ng mga tren.
