MANILA, Philippines- Nagkasundo ang Pilipinas at Montenegro na palakasin ang relasyon pagdating sa industriya ng turismo.
Ito’y matapos na mag-courtesy call si Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic ng Montenegro kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Music Room sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang, araw ng Huwebes.
Sa naging pagpupulong nina Pangulong Marcos at PM Abazovic, binigyang-diin ng una ang kahalagahan ng turismo sa Pilipinas.
Tinuran ng Chief Executive ang posibilidad na pag-adopt sa matagumpay na estratehiya ng Montenegro pagdating sa naturang industriya.
“Tourism has become also very important for the Philippines and we see it as an important part of the transformation of the economy because during the pandemic, it was zero. So, now we have to build back,” ayon sa Chief Executive.
Para naman kay Abazovic, pinuri nito si Pangulong Marcos para sa pagsisikap nito na makahikayat ng mas maraming turista at investors sa Pilipinas.
“So, I want to congratulate you and I am more than sure that you will play the very, very important role in the context of traveling and inviting people to visit you,” anito.
Ang Prime Minister ay nasa Pilipinas para suportahan ang Montenegro Men’s National Basketball Team, kasalukuyan ngayong nakikipaglaban sa FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
Sa kabilang dako, present sa nasabing meeting sina Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Enrique Manalo, Presidential Adviser on Foreign Affairs at Chief of Presidential Protocol (COPP) Secretary Adelio Angelito Cruz, Honorary Consul of Montenegro in the Philippines Maria Vanessa Pastor-Ledesma at iba pang opisyal mula sa DFA Office of European Affairs.
Samantala, naitatag naman ang diplomatic relationship sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Montenegro noong Setyembre 26, 2009.
