MANILA, Philippines – Siniguro ng manning agency ng mga Filipino crew na nasagip mula sa container ship na lumubog sa baybayin ng India na mabibigyan ang mga ito ng tulong.
Sa report mula sa manning agency na ipinahayag ng Department of Foreign Affairs, 20 sa 24 crew members ay Filipino.
“We are coordinating to ensure that the seafarers receive appropriate medical attention and are provided with essential clothing and humanitarian support as needed, considering they may have disembarked without personal effects,” ayon sa manning agency.
“The Indian Coast Guard assisted 12 Pinoys, while the passing merchant vessel MV Han Yi rescued 8 Pinoys,” dagdag pa.
Nitong Linggo, lumubog sa baybayin ng Kerala, southern India, ang Liberian-flagged container ship na may hazardous cargo.
Nasagip ang lahat ng 24 crew members nito.
