DAVAO CITY- Binuksan kamakailan ng Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao ang kauna-unahang public madrasah (Islamic school) sa bansa sa Cotabato City.
Inihayag ni MBHTE chief Mohagher Iqbal na malaki ang papel ng madrasahs sa pagpapalakas sa mga kabataaang Bangsamoro sa pagbabahagi sa mga ito ng mga kaalaman at kasanayan na may kaugnayan sa kanilang mga paniniwala at kultura.
Hindit tulad ng tipikal na paaralang karaniwang sa Muslim communities matatagpuan, tinututukan ang Islamic studies at Arabic languages, sinabi ni Iqbal na ituturo rin sa public madrasah ang national curriculum ng Department of Education.
Ang Islamic school sa Barangay Datu Balabaran ay may anim na four-story buildings kung saan maaaring tumanggap ng 2,000 estudyante.
Kasabay ang pagbubukas nito ng pagsisimula ng klase sa public at private schools sa buong bansa noong Hulyo 29.
Base sa BDA, nilalayon ng programa na makapagbigay ng early learning program sa 40,000 Bangsamoro children sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalawig ng madrasah.
Alinsunod ang pagtatatag ng Islamic schools sa ilalim ng Bangsamoro Education Code of 2021.
“This is the first public madrasah not only here but in the entire Philippines, courtesy of MBHTE and the Bangsamoro government. We really want this to happen. That is not only in the mind but in the administrative and in the education code on how we build the public madrasah,” giit ni Iqbal.
“If you see that the public school has division offices and then there are many schools more than thousands, that is our view on public madrasah,” dagdag niya.
“Even though everything is not complete, we have started, and the rest will follow. We are determined to achieve our goals.” RNT/SA
