MANILA, Philippines — Ipinanood sa Senate impeachment court nitong Martes at ipinasok bilang ebidensiya ng prosecution ang November 2024 video ni Vice President Sara Duterte kung saan umano siya nagbanta na ipapapatay sina President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, at former Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Pinayagan ng Senate impeachment court ang prosecution na ipakita ang bahagi ng dalawang oras na press conference ni Duterte upang ma-identify ito ni National Bureau of Investigation Senior Agent John Mark Calilung, na nagsiyasat sa authenticity ng video na nai-broadcast sa Facebook page ni former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.
Dalawang minuto at 18 segundo ang bahaging ipinatugtog sa korte, kung saan sinabi ni Duterte: “Huwag kang mag-alala, Ma’am sa security ko, kasi may kinausap na ako na tao. Sabi ko sa kanya, kapag pinatay ako, patayin mo si BBM, si Liza Araneta, at si Martin Romualdez.”
“No joke, no joke. Nagbilin na ako, Ma’am. ‘Pag mamatay ako, sabi ko, huwag ka tumigil ha, hanggang hindi mo mapatay sila. And then he said yes.”
Ayon kay Calilung, makikita sa video ang umano’y banta ng Bise Presidente mula sa “one hour and 15th minute mark until one hour and 17th minute and 18 seconds.”
Sa pagpayag na ipasok ang video bilang ebidensiya, sinabi ni Senate impeachment court Presiding Officer and Senator Francis Escudero: “This is to save time and support the allegation, from the view of the prosecution.”
“The counsel for the respondent will also present the evidence they deem best and that will prove the innocence of the respondent,” dagdag ni Escudero.
Sinabi ng prosecution na layunin nitong ipasok bilang ebidensiya ang buong dalawang oras na video. Magpapasya pa ang Senate impeachment court kung admissible evidence ang naturang video.
Nauna nang sinabi ng prosecution panel na nais nitong unang magpresenta ng ebidensiya kaugnay ng impeachable offense na may kinalaman sa umano’y banta, dahil hindi umano katanggap-tanggap ang ganitong impunity mula sa Bise Presidente.
Ipinagtanggol naman ni Duterte ang kaniyang pahayag at sinabing ito ay exercise of freedom of expression. RNT
