PORMAL na hiniling ni Vice President Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio sa Korte Suprema na ibasura ang tatlong petisyon na kumukuwestiyon sa propriyedad ng P125 million na confidential funds sa Office of the Vice President (OVP) sa ilalim ng 2022 budget.
Sa 16-pahinang pinagsamang komento na inihain sa tribunal noong Mayo 10, hiniling ni VP Sara, sa pamamagitan ng kanyang abogado na si dating Solicitor General Estelito Mendoza, na ibasura ang petisyon na magkakahiwalay na inihain nina Christian Monsod, Howard Calleja at ACT Teachers Party-list.
Sa naging komento ni Mendoza, sinabi nito na “none of the petitions present an actual case or controversy and none of the petitioners alleged a legal demandable and enforceable right which calls for the exercise of judicial power.”
Ang mandato naman ng Korte Suprema aniya ay “does not include the duty to answer all of life’s questions,” sabay sabing “the petitions are mere apprehension and speculation about contingent funds or confidential funds, which does not constitute a justiciable controversy.”
Iginiit ni Mendoza na ang kapangyarihan ng Korte ay “is not unbridled authority to review just any claim of constitutional violation or grave abuse of discretion.”
