MANILA, Philippines – Binira ni House Assistant Minority Leader Gabriela Party-list Rep. Sarah Elago si Vice President Sara Duterte at sinabihang wala ito sa posisyon na magtalakay sa usapin ng korapsyon.
Ang reaksyon ay ginawa ni Elago matapos ang social media post ni VP Sara na tumatalakay sa korapsyon.
“We, in Gabriela Women’s Party, welcome every call for clean and transparent governance — but these words must be matched by unquestionable integrity, not contradicted by one’s own record,” ani Elago.
“Vice President Sara Duterte is not in the position to lecture the public on corruption when she herself remains embroiled in serious allegations of misuse of public funds,” giit pa nito kasabay ng pagpapaala na hindi pa nakakalimutan ng taumbayan ang ₱125 million confidential funds ng OVP (Office of the Vice President (OVP) na naubos sa loob lamang ng 11 araw.
“Kung seryoso tayo sa paglilinis ng sistema, dapat magsimula ito sa mga nasa tuktok ng kapangyarihan,” giit pa ni Elago.
Matatandaan na isa ang isyu ng paggamit ng confidential funds sa naging batayan ng impeachment case na inihain ng Kamara laban kay VP Duterte. Gail Mendoza
