MANILA, Philippines – Walang banta ng tsunami kasunod ng magnitude 6.8 na lindol na yumanig sa New Zealand nitong Martes ng umaga, Marso 25.
Sa abiso ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), ang lindol ay yumanig sa west coast ng South Island sa New Zealand bandang 9:43 ng umaga.
May lalim itong 10 kilometro.
“No destructive tsunami threat exists based on available data. This is for information purposes only and there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from this earthquake,” sinabi ng PHIVOLCS. RNT/JGC
