MANILA, Philippines — Nakatanggap ng P3 milyong award at medal of excellence ang two-time Olympic gold medalist na si Carlos Yulo mula sa Philippine Senate noong Lunes.
Ang parangal ay iginawad kay Yulo sa plenaryo session ng kamara.
Bukod kay Yulo, nakatanggap din ang mga Bronze medalist na sina Nesthy Petecio at Aira Villegas ng mga medalya ng kahusayan at parangal na nagkakahalaga ng P1 milyon bawat isa.
Nauna rito, pinagtibay ng kamara ang mga resolusyon na pinupuri at binabati ang mga Filipino athletes na lumahok sa 2024 Paris Olympics sa pangunguna ni Yulo.
Ang lahat ng mga senador ay ginawang co-authors ng Senate Resolution No. (SRN) 1128, na inakda ni Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., na isinasaalang-alang ang SRNs 1129, 1132, 1140, 1141, at 1144 na pinupuri at binabati ang Team Philippines “para sa kanilang kahanga-hangang performance” sa Paris 2024 Olympics.
“The historic and record-breaking achievements by the Filipino Olympians, which can be considered as the country’s best Olympics stint in history, proves that Filipinos are among the best and brightest in the global arena of sports,” ani Revilla sa kanyang resolution.
“The 22-strong Philippine contingent in the Paris 2024 Olympics has served as an epitome of the ‘quintessence of Filipino spirit’ defining the nation’s continuous showcase of perseverance, discipline and excellence. Their participation in the quadrennial sporting event is proof of unfolding historical milestones beyond chasing medals. They are exemplars in their respective fields who shine their light of inspiration to our next generations of athletes,” saad pa sa resolusyon. RNT
