MANILA, Philippines – Nanawagan si House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III sa mga state-run bank na gawing bukas sa mga magsasaka ang mga pautang, magpataw ng zero interest, at bawasan ang mga documentary requirement.
Ayon kay Dy, marami sa mga magsasaka ang hirap magbayad ng kanilang loan dahil sa ipinapataw na 3% interest rate.
“We call on our government banks like the Land Bank of the Philippines to impose zero interest and simplify the process of securing loans for our farmers so they can easily secure the funding they need,” pahayag ni Dy.
Sinabi pa ni Dy na agarang tulong ang dapat ibigay sa mga magsasaka, lalo na sa gitna ng pagtaas ng presyo ng palay.
Isinusulong din ng Speaker na magkaroon ng mandatory crop insurance policy para sa mga magsasaka.
“We want crop insurance to cover all farmers and ensure that the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation is able to process their claims within 10 days via a digital system. This way, farmers would recover faster from losses due to calamities and market shocks,” dagdag pa ni Dy. Gail Mendoza
