MANILA, Philippines- Inanunsyo ng Philippine Army (PA) nitong Martes na 10 sundalong idineploy bilang bahagi ng Philippine Inter-Agency Humanitarian Contingent (PIAHC) ang pinarangalan ng Meritorious Achievement Medal sa pag-asisti sa mga biktima ng malakas na lindol na tumama sa Myanmar noong nakaraang buwan.
Pinangunahan ni Army chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido ang awarding rites sa Army headquarters sa Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City nitong Lunes, ayon kay PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala sa isang news release.
Inihayag ni Dema-ala na ang awardees ay sina 1st Lt. Alexis Nocos, 1st Lt. Joey Labiang, Staff Sgt. Ricky Ramirez, Staff Sgt. Jesus Tomas Jr., Sgt. John Rex Palaruan, Cpl. John Paul Kismundo, Cpl. Jundie Gutierez, Cpl. Ryan Paul CabueƱas, Cpl. Alihuddin Hamid, at Pfc. Elmar Encinas, kapwa mula sa Army’s 525th Combat Engineer Battalion, Combat Engineer Regiment.
Ang 10 sundalo ay miyembro ng PA urban search and rescue team na naka-attach sa PIAHC.
“During the ceremony, Lt. Gen. Galido also awarded the CGPA’s (Commanding General Philippine Army) Personal Coins to the awardees to commemorate the team’s exceptional courage, skill, and unwavering commitment to humanitarian service,” wika ni Dema-ala. RNT/SA
