MANILA, Philippines – Kumpiyansa ang miyembro ng House justice committee na maaabot ng mababang kapulungan ang sapat na boto para ma-impeach si Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa news forum, sinabi ni panel member Bicol Saro Partylist Representative Terry Ridon na nakakuha na agad sa House justice panel ng 53 boto para makitaan ng probable cause na ma-impeach ang Bise Presidente.
“Ang kailangan lang naman namin is 106 votes to impeach [Duterte] and to send it to the Senate. Tingin ko naman ay that is a number that will not be difficult to surmount at makuha,” sinabi ni Ridon.
Kailangan ng Kamara ng 1/3 o 106 na boto mula sa total membership na 318 para ma-impeach si Duterte.
“Kung ang minimum requirement lang ay 106, tingin ko hindi na ‘yun mahirap gawin,” ani Ridon.
“At the very best we would want to get at the very least 215 minimum number of votes, which is we had gotten the last time noong first impeachment hearing,” dagdag pa niya.
Noong Pebrero 2025 ay inimpeach ng Mababang Kapulungan si Duterte sa 215 boto na lampas pa sa kailangang 1/3 threshold na 102 boto dahilan para ipadala ang Articles of Impeachment laban kay Duterte sa Senado.
Ani Ridon, hahayaan ng House justice panel ang mga miyembro ng mababang kapulungan na magdesisyon para sa kanilang sarili batay sa konsensya at ebidensya.
Ang susunod na pagdinig ay isasagawa sa Martes, Mayo 4, alas-10 ng umaga sa People’s Center.
“Sa darating pong Lunes magkakaroon ng committee meeting to approve the committee report kasama na po doon ang Articles of Impeachment from the consolidated complaints, after which within the week, next week, mailalagay na po ‘yun sa plenaryo for deliberation,” ani Ridon.
“Ibig sabihin, lahat ng miyembro mabibigyan ng kopya ng Articles of Impeachment annexes and evidence. Mabibigyan din ng kopya ang Pangalawang Pangulo bilang bahagi ng due process requirements ng Korte Suprema. So magkakaroon ng debate roon, malaya ang lahat na magtalakayan at makipag-debate on the committee report and Articles of Impeachment. And then there will be a vote.”
Anang mambabatas, sa loob ng dalawang linggo “we will have to transmit it to the Senate and we have impeached the Vice President.” RNT/JGC
