INDIA – Mahigit isang dosenang indibidwal ang nawawala pa rin dahil sa landslide na naitala sa Himalayan Indian state dahil sa monsoon rains.
Ang landslide ay nangyari sa Gaurikund area ng Rudraprayag sa Uttarakhand state nitong Huwebes ng gabi, Agosto 3, patungo sa Hindu shrine ng Kedarnath.
“There are reports of 13-14 people missing. The rescue operation is underway and so far we haven’t located them. Search and rescue operations are going on,” pagbabahagi ni Vishakha Ashok, Rudraprayag district police chief.
Nakararanas pa rin umano ng matinding pag-ulan sa lugar.
“Some shops were in the area, and they also suffered damage,” sinabi ni Nandan Singh Rajwar, disaster management official sa distrito.
“The team of disaster management and district administration is fully engaged in relief and rescue work. The government stands completely with the disaster victims,” pahayag naman ni Pushkar Singh Dhami, chief minister ng Uttarakhand. RNT/JGC
