MANILA, Philippines – Dumating na sa Netherlands ang ikalawang batch ng mga Filipino na crew ng MV Hondius na sinapul ng hantavirus, bago ito tuluyang mapauwi sa Pilipinas.
Ang 17 crew members, kasama ang iba pang dayuhang pasahero, ay bahagi ng pinakabagong evacuation flights na inayos ng Netherlands mula sa Tenerife sa Canary Islands ng Spain, na lumapag sa Eindhoven Airport nitong Martes ng umaga, Mayo 12.
“The Philippine Embassy in The Hague is in close contact with Dutch authorities and the Migrant Workers Offices in Berlin on arrangements for the eventual repatriation of the altogether 38 Filipino crew members to the Philippines,” ayon sa Philippine Embassy in the Netherlands.
“The Embassy conveys its appreciation for the Netherlands Government’s proactive and careful handling of this public health emergency, with strict observance of applicable protocols,” dagdag pa.
Ayon sa embahada, ang lahat ng crew member ay sumailalim sa medical test sa kanilang pagdating bago tumuloy sa itinalagang local facilities para sa quarantine.
Mayroon pang 17 nananatili sa barko at inaasahang darating sa Rotterdam sa Mayo 18 sakay ng MV Hondius.
Sinalubong ni Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands J. Eduardo Malaya, ang bagong batch kasama ang Dutch health and foreign ministry officials.
