MANILA, Philippines – Tatlong sundalo mula sa 18th Infantry Batallion ang tinambangan ng hindi pa tukoy na mga gunman sa Barangay Lahi Lahi, Tuburan, Basilan nitong Biyernes, Abril 11.
Dalawa sa mga ito ang nasawi habang sugatan naman ang isa pa.
Sa pahayag ng 18th IB ng Army, bumibiyahe ang mga biktima sakay ng dalawang motorsiklo mula sa Dugaa Patrol Base patungong Charlie Company Command Post nang mangyari ang pag-atake.
“The 18th Infantry Battalion mourns the loss of these brave soldiers, who were victims of this senseless violence while executing their duty to serve and protect the nation. Their sacrifice and unwavering dedication will not be forgotten,” sinabi ng 18th IB.
“The unit is committed to providing the necessary assistance and care to the grieving families. Furthermore, the Battalion wishes the wounded personnel a swift and complete recovery.”
Nagsasagawa na ng operasyon ang mga sundalo upang matukoy ang mga sangkot sa pananambang.
“The 18th Infantry Battalion is committed to bringing these individuals to justice and ensuring they are held fully accountable for their actions. The pursuit will not cease until justice is served,” sinabi pa. RNT/JGC
