MANILA, Philippines- Tatlong business agreements ang tinintahan sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Czech Republic sa huling araw ng state visit ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa Prague, araw ng Biyernes.
Sinaksihan ni Pangulong Marcos kasama si Czech President Petr Pavel, ang paglagda sa nasabing mga kasunduan sa isinagawang Philippines-Czech Business Forum na idinaos sa Czernin Palace.
Kabilang sa mga kasunduan na nilagdaan ay ang memorandum of understanding on cooperation sa pagitan ng Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc. (SEIPI) at Electrical and Electronic Association of the Czech Republic (ELA).
Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, ang SEIPI at ELA ay magtatatag ng long-term collaborative relationship sa larangan ng electronics kung saan kasama ang partisipasyon ng global network ng leading technology at innovation centers o kasunduan ng small at midsized companies.
Ang IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines, Inc. (IBPAP) at ang Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SPCR) ay lumagda rin ng isang Agreement of Mutual Cooperation para isulong ang commercial at industrial relations.
Sakop naman ng cooperation deal sa pagitan ng IBPAP at SPCR ay ang pagpapalitan ng mas mahusay na mga kasanayan ukol sa polisiya at regulasyon; development at promosyon ng information technology (IT) competencies; at sertipikasyon o pasilitasyon ng responsableng implementasyon ng artificial intelligence.
Gayundin, pinirmahan ang Agreement of Mutual Cooperation sa pagitan ng Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) at SPCR para isulong ang kalakalan at pamumuhunan sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Czech Republic.
Magkakaroon din ng “exchanges of trade missions, organization of trade and investment seminars, and exchange of market information between the PCCI and the SPCR.”
Sa kabilang dako, sa naging talumpati ng Pangulo, sinabi nito na ang mga kasunduan ay tanda ng “journey towards mutual prosperity” ng dalawang bansa.
“These agreements are not just documents. They are a commitment to unlocking the vast potential that lies in our partnership,” giit ni Pangulong Marcos.
“Today’s agreements also signify a very exciting step forward. They embody our commitment to complement our strengths and explore new avenues of cooperation,” dagdag na wika nito.
Ayon pa kay Pangulong Marcos, “the Philippines, with its strategic location and vibrant economy, is committed to become a reliable partner for the Czech Republic in implementing its Indo-Pacific Strategy.”
“We believe that by working together, we can achieve our shared goals of stability, economic growth and sustainable development in the region,” patuloy niya.
Samantala, hiniling naman ni Pangulong Marcos sa Czech Republic na suportahan ang pagpapatuloy ng negosasyon para sa Free Trade Agreement (FTA) sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at European Union (EU).
Ani Pangulong Marcos, ang pagpapatuloy ng pag-uusap para sa FTA ay magiging “big step” para isulong ang ugnayang pangkalakalan ng Pilipinas sa EU member-states, kabilang na ang Czech Republic.
Aniya, “the free trade deal is essential in establishing a stable, predictable and enabling business environment that promotes inclusive and sustainable growth and development.”
Inaasahan naman ni Pangulong Marcos ang pagtanggap sa mga kompanya ng Czech Republic para sa karagdagang pagtalakay at potensyal na industry cooperation sa nalalapit na Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation sa Hulyo ngayong taon.
Nilalayon umano ng forum “to deepen the dialogue, explore new partnerships and foster an environment conducive to business and investment between the Philippines and the Czech Republic.”
“With mutual respect and understanding, we can forge a partnership that not only benefits our nations but also contribute to the broader goals of peace, prosperity and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region and beyond,” sabi pa ng Pangulo. Kris Jose
